Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 is a supernatural action anime adapted from the manga written by Gege Akutami. The season aired from October 2020 to March 2021 and quickly became one of the most popular anime of the decade, praised for its high-quality animation, thrilling story, and compelling characters.
The story follows Yuji Itadori, an ordinary high school student with exceptional physical strength. After encountering a cursed object, Yuji becomes involved in the dangerous world of Jujutsu Sorcerers—people who fight curses, which are monstrous beings born from negative human emotions like fear, anger, and hatred.
To save his friends, Yuji swallows a powerful cursed object—a finger belonging to Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. This act turns Yuji into Sukuna’s vessel, making him both a danger and an asset. Rather than executing him immediately, the Jujutsu world decides to delay his death until he consumes all of Sukuna’s remaining fingers. Yuji is enrolled at the Tokyo Jujutsu High, where he trains with other sorcerers under the guidance of the powerful and mysterious Satoru Gojo.
